Lady Gaga is officially back, and she’s bringing the chaos. The 13-time Grammy winner has just dropped Abracadabra, the spellbinding lead single from her highly anticipated seventh studio album, Mayhem, set for release on March 7 via Interscope Records.

The track made a dramatic debut during the 2025 GRAMMY Awards, premiering in a Mastercard® commercial break—a move that only Gaga could pull off. Infused with pulsating trance and dance elements, Abracadabra is a high-energy anthem that transforms life’s trials into an electrifying party.

A Cinematic Visual Spectacle

The accompanying music video, directed by Lady Gaga, Parris Goebel, and Bethany Vargas, is a visual feast, featuring a fierce dance battle between Gaga’s light and dark sides. Choreographed by Parris Goebel, the production enlists a 40-strong dance crew, bringing an explosive energy to the screen.

Gaga’s fashion is just as captivating, with standout looks styled by Peri Rosenzweig and Nick Royal. One of the most talked-about pieces? An upcycled white cape crafted from vintage wedding dresses, seamlessly blending high fashion with artistic symbolism.

Mayhem: A Return to Pop with a Fearless Twist

Gaga describes Mayhem as a bold reinvention of her early sound, pushing boundaries while staying true to the energy that first made her a pop icon.

“The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved,” she explains. “It’s like reassembling a shattered mirror—you may not put the pieces back together perfectly, but you can create something beautiful and whole in its own new way.”

The 14-track album is executive-produced by Gaga, Michael Polansky, and Andrew Watt, with additional production from Cirkut and Gesaffelstein.

Chart-Topping Singles & Global Success

Before Abracadabra, Gaga had already set the stage with two massive hits:

  • “Disease” – Praised by The Independent as “her best in a long while,” the track blends distorted synths with industrial beats. Rolling Stone called it a “classic Gaga shout-along chorus.”
  • “Die With a Smile” (feat. Bruno Mars) – A global phenomenon, this emotional ballad has topped the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks, set a Spotify record by reaching 1 billion streams faster than any song in history, and earned two Grammy nominations.

What’s Next for Gaga?

2025 is shaping up to be another landmark year for Gaga. She will receive the iHeartRadio Innovator Award on March 17, before heading to Coachella for two headlining performances on April 11 and 18.

With Mayhem promising to be one of the biggest releases of the year, the question remains—are you ready for Gaga’s latest pop revolution?
