Pop sensation Anne-Marie is back with her latest single ‘DEPRESSED’ – an honest yet darkly witty exploration of mental health, self-image, and the everyday battles hidden beneath a smile.
A bold new chapter in her songwriting and unvarnished honesty, the track pairs Anne-Marie’s signature vulnerability with biting lyricism and infectious pop hooks. It lays bare the contradictions of living with anxiety and sadness in a world that demands constant positivity. She captures the paradox of laughing through the pain with relatability and candour.
Speaking about the track, Anne-Marie said: “A song for the depressed crew! Hope this makes you feel a little less alone when you listen to it. And hopefully it puts a smile on your face too. I can’t help but write songs about what I’m going through in my life and seems as though a lot of people feel the same let’s dance and cry and laugh all at once.”
The track comes paired up a vibrant video which includes Anne-Marie being hit by water balloons, and her trying to dance away her troubles on the street.

Beyond her work in music, Anne-Marie has become a multifaceted public figure and a passionate advocate for mental health. This is a cause she has championed through her YouTube documentary, How to be Anne-Marie, and by fronting ITV’s “Britain Get Talking” campaign. In 2021, she also released her debut book, the Sunday Times ‘Best Seller’ You Deserve Better. Part memoir and part practical self-help guide, the book drew on her own experiences to help readers tackle life’s challenges. As an official ambassador for Mind Charity, The Princes Trust, and the Trussell Trust, she uses her platform to raise awareness and support for important social causes.
