Ed Sheeran Reunites With Rupert Grint in Darkly Comedic ‘A Little More’ Video

Ed Sheeran has revived one of his most memorable music video storylines, reuniting with actor Rupert Grint for the bizarre and darkly comedic “A Little More,” released Thursday (Aug. 7) alongside the track. The visual picks up more than a decade after Grint first portrayed Sheeran’s dangerously devoted super fan in 2011’s “Lego House,” finding the character fresh out of prison but still unable to shake the singer from his life — or his imagination.

Directed by Emil Nava, the music video follows Grint’s character returning to his childhood bedroom, where Sheeran posters still cover the walls. He attends “Stalkers Anonymous” meetings, watches old TV appearances, and tries to rebuild his life. But Sheeran seems to materialize everywhere — on billboards, television screens, even in the faces of strangers.

Set to the song’s weary refrain, “I used to love you / Now every day I hate you just a little more,” the story takes a surreal turn when Rupert Grint meets a woman, proposes and prepares to marry her. On the wedding day, every guest in the chapel morphs into Ed Sheeran, grinning at him from the pews. Lifting his bride’s veil, he finds Sheeran staring back. The video closes with a post-credits gag of Sheeran himself in a wedding dress, dancing through the reception.

Ed Sheeran revealed on Instagram that the project marked their first collaboration in 14 years. “I hadn’t worked with @rupertgrint in 14 years since ‘Lego House,’ so didn’t know if he’d say yes to this idea. But I’m so glad he did. It’s such a fun, bonkers video … Rupert, my brother from another mother, thank you for throwing yourself into this, it wouldn’t exist had you said no.

“A Little More” follows Sheeran’s recent singles “Sapphire” — a Hindi and Punjabi collaboration with iconic Bollywood singer Arijit Singh — and “Azizam,” and arrives ahead of his upcoming album Play, due September 12. The record marks the start of a new series of releases for the Grammy winner, closing out his decade-long “Mathematics” era that began with “+” in 2011 and concluded with “–” in 2023.
