BTS Is Back: Inside Their ARIRANG Era and Global Netflix Livestream

K Pop juggernauts BTS is stepping back into the global spotlight, and they’re doing it at full volume.

On March 21, the seven-member powerhouse will deliver their first live group performance in nearly four years, streaming worldwide on Netflix. The event, titled BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG, marks more than a return to the stage — it signals a new chapter for a group that reshaped pop culture before pausing for South Korea’s mandatory military service.

The performance takes place at Seoul’s iconic Gwanghwamun Square, a location loaded with history and symbolism. Against that backdrop, RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook will reunite as BTS and perform songs from their upcoming fifth studio album, ARIRANG, which drops just a day earlier on March 20. The timing feels intentional. The album arrives first, raw and unfiltered, followed immediately by a live moment that lets fans experience the music in its most electric form.

While the full setlist remains under wraps, ARIRANG already carries emotional weight. Created after years of separation, solo exploration, and personal growth, the album reflects a group returning not to replicate the past, but to redefine itself. This comeback doesn’t chase nostalgia. It confronts time, change, and identity head-on — and that tension is what makes this moment feel urgent rather than ceremonial.

Netflix isn’t stopping at the live event. On March 27, the platform will release BTS: THE RETURN, a feature-length documentary that chronicles the making of ARIRANG and the band’s reunion. Directed by Bao Nguyen, the film promises rare behind-the-scenes access, capturing moments of doubt, laughter, and creative rediscovery as BTS figures out what “together” looks like now.

Following the live stream, BTS will launch the ARIRANG World Tour, spanning 34 regions and 82 shows, including two major dates in London this July. For a group that hasn’t toured extensively outside South Korea and the U.S. since 2019, this rollout feels monumental.

This isn’t just a comeback. It’s a cultural reset — one streamed live, shared globally, and felt deeply.
